Firesign Family Farm

Firesign Family Farm raises a variety of meat animals in an ethical, natural environment, adhering to the principles of organic and bio-diverse farming. We maintain a production flock of Icelandic sheep and on occasion have breeding stock, fleeces, and sheep's milk for sale. We also keep Jersey cows and Alpine goats and offer dairy herd shares which allow you access to raw milk, butter, yogurt, kefir, cream, cheese, and whey. Home dairy cow management and milking instruction available along with other farmstead type classes and demonstrations.

Our farm features extensive vegetable and flower gardens in addition to open fields and woods; we encourage our patrons to visit us frequently throughout the year to take advantage of the beauty and serenity our acreage offers. While we don't sell produce per se, you are likely to go home with a bag of veggies and an armful of flowers after every trip during the growing season! We do offer both medicinal and culinary herbs for sale throughout the summer. Fresh eggs are also available most of the year.

We raise broiler chickens, turkeys, lamb, pork, rabbit, and beef. Sales are by contract in spring/early summer for fall butchering with the exception of broilers which are available fresh at various times throughout the year and frozen year around depending on supply. We welcome the opportunity to share with you our passion for safe and healthy food nurtured in a respectful, compassionate setting.

May through November by reservation - Firesign Family Farm's hand's on week long "boot camp" learning experience. Be part of a small group staying right here on the farm participating in the day to day activities involved in operations. This will include hand milking, cheese and butter making, butchering, bread baking, vegetable canning and freezing as well as a never ending list of chores and maintenance activities. Many other educational options can be tailored to fit your needs.

Another service we offer is custom butchering of your home raised birds with the option of you participating as much or as little as desired. We do at least 5 butcherings per year ourselves and can accommodate you with a few birds at those times or set up a time specifically for you if there are at least 25 birds.
