First Alternative is a community-owned and cooperatively-run natural foods grocery store with two locations in Corvallis, Oregon. We offer the following products, many of which are locally made: organic produce and groceries; a large selection of bulk foods; specialty cheeses, wine and beer; a full-service deli and food bar; vitamins and supplements; natural body care; natural household items; and more.
The Co-op is multi-faceted in that we also sponsor many educational activities, donate money to various local charitable organizations, serve as a recycling center, teach healthy eating to local schools, and offer a free community demo booth at local events.

Every Friday from 5-7pm at our South Store:
Free wine-tasting and appetizers.
Thirsty Thursdays from 5-7 pm at our North Store:
Alternating weeks of wine and beer tastings.
Beginning July 4, 2009, we will begin charging 5¢ for grocery bags used at the register. We encourage all shoppers to bring their own bags - in return we will contribute 5¢ for each of those bags to a local charitable organization.
