The Fish Pepper is an old heirloom that has been used to season fish and shellfish in African-American communities around Baltimore and the Chesapeake Bat area for at least the last century.
Fish Peppers are identifiable by their unique splashes of white and yellow decorate both the green variegated leaves. and the fruit. Immature fruits are predominately green and white or cream colored, changing to shades of red and orange, with striped accents of green, yellow, and cream. The mature pepper is about 2" long and is quite hot!
