David Lewis Owner of Florida Keys Honey and Bees a 30+ year resident of the Keys has evolved into somewhat of a naturalist. Being involved in athletic training David began consuming what he thought was raw honey from local stores and quickly realized what he was buying was not what he thought. Having a close childhood friend that was a beekeeper, David decided to provide himself with the freshest honey he could his own and inadvertently created Florida Keys Honey and Bees, his company has had great response. Not only do we provide local honey but also educational lectures as well as hive removal services. The world of bees is fascinating and every growing, check our facebook page for updates.
Buy honey from a Beekeeper:
1. There are no USDA regulations on honey. So what you get in the supermarkets may not be a 100% honey, or may be mixed with low grade honeys so you will not get 100% honey.
2. Large scale commercial processing of honey includes a multi-filtration process that filters out most if not all of the "good" honey properties like; pollen.
3. Honey is the only food substance that contains all the necessary substances to sustain life including enzymes.
