For the past five years, The Blue Chair has provided its local community of Sewanee, Tennessee with a popular gathering place offering tasty, fresh bakery items and coffee as well as delicious breakfasts and lunches.
A new expansion into the building next door is allowing not only additional seating, but the opportunity to provide an array of gourmet food items, prepared dishes for take-home, a selection of breads and cheeses, as well as locally grown produce and many organic products.
The Blue Chair also participates in a very unique collaboration with a non-profit residential program, called Blue Monarch, for women recovering from emotional wounds and addictions. The women of this program are employed by The Blue Chair to produce the bakery items which are sold at the cafe and market.
