Heifer Farm is 270 acres located in a beautiful rural setting 62 miles from Boston, MA. The cities of Boston, Worcester and Providence are nearby and easily accessible by car and train. The farm has organic gardens, diverse species of livestock, a commercial kitchen where we cook and preserve our own food, a workshop, educational classrooms and a Global Village.
The Global Village is a unique aspect of the farm where we highlight Heifer's international work and provides a centerpiece for educational activities. It contains 9 homesteads (shelter, garden and livestock) that represent 9 countries where Heifer works, including the US. Groups stay overnight in the Village, cooking meals over an open fire and immersing themselves in a different reality. We hope this experience helps participants to become global citizens, working in their communities for a better world.
