Pruning a Tabasco bush    (Posted Mon, Jul 23 '12 at 03:11 UTC)

I have a tabasco bush that was very productive in its first year or growth. I pot it and bring it in for the winter then brought it back out this year. Does this plant need to be pruned? Once the fruit is picked, there is a stem left on the bush. Should this stem be removed?

Thanks in advance.

I have never cut back an over wintered pepper plant. You may find you get a bad aphids problem with it over winter but if it survives it will produce a lot of peppers the following year with no pruning
