ground cover for memorial garden?    (Posted Sat, Mar 6 '10 at 04:39 UTC)

This doesn't quite fit into any category, but I wanted to ask ...

Does anyone know of any seed that would be good for ground cover that might also entice critters or beneficial insects in a clayey soil (sandy base) off the water in (Anne Arundel County) Maryland? I want to do a memorial garden in the back of my townhouse and don't know what would be good. The little swath of land is in shade (white mulberry, sweetgum)--light to moderate, I'd say. I'd love something fragrant or blossoming or otherwise aesthetically pleasing.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have.
