Hello, new to the site/forum... ;)

Question, is it accurate to say that all food in farmers market arent necessarily pesticide free?

Hi Paul,

No, you cannot make that assumption. Each farmer who participates manages their farm according to their own ideas and plans.

If the market rules state that everything must be pesticide-free, then you have to hope the market has a way of certifying that they are meeting that rule.

The term "organic" has been usurped by the feds, however, there are a few people carefully stating they "uncertified organic". Also you'll find the terms "natural" and also "sustainable". These farmers may be pesticide-free, but you have to ask each farmer.

Yes, they aren't necessarily pesticide free. Double negatives...

many produce growers and dealers take advantage of the consumer's ignorance and assumptions. The cure is that consumer need to be more informed.
