looking for farmer/s?    (Posted Thu, Feb 7 '13 at 01:14 UTC)

Hi I own a small organically farmed farm in north eastern Wisconsin. I have what I believe is a wonderfu opportunity for the right person or couple. We have been growing organically for the past 4-5 years and have a beautiful organic garden, a 2 year established 30+ member CSA, a couple of restaurant clients, and a couple of natural food stores. As well as all of the equipment and tools, but no farmer.
The area being farmed is about 2 acres, but there is another 3-4 acres available.
I am looking for a young person or couple to come in and take over the garden as their own business. So that of course means everything from garden planning to working with the CSA to harvest- everything basically. I will help in any ways that I can to get them started.
There is a possibility of housing on the property if whomever I find needs housing.

This sounds like an amazing opportunity! I currently have a small herb farm but also grow edible blossoms, heirloom & specialty vegetables and spend a great time foraging for wild foods. I have some experience working with our local CSA and have held restaurant & retail accounts as well as vending at local farmers' markets. Is there a way we could discuss this further? I do some work in both Iowa and Wisconsin, so travel a bit... how exciting!
