Corporate CSA + Outreach Effort    (Posted Wed, Feb 13 '13 at 02:09 UTC)

Hello,

I'm wondering if anybody has any comment on the concept of corporation(s) and/or groups of workers in a or several corporations signing up for CSA shares and willingly subsidizing shares to be bought for people of low-income status in their area. The shares would be aggregated and distributed from a food hub-like facility.

I am going to be doing work in Manchester, NH.

A few notes about NH:

We have limited production of scale. Well over 80% of ag sales are direct farm-to-consumer. We desire to address food access issues and related inequities.

Any and all comments are welcome.

Good luck. I distributed free CSA shares last year and asked for donations, however big and small. I did not get a single dime, although a "sustainable" nonprofit was happy to take a couple shares. They seemed to have enough money to pay their staff, though.

Catering to the unique Ferndale perspective.
