Foxtail Community Farm

Foxtail Community Farm is a family-owned and operated farm located in the northern valley of the Catskill Mountains in rural Greene County, New York. We raise a vegetables, herbs, flowers, fruit, eggs, chickens, ducks, turkeys and honeybees using sustainable agricultural practices. We offer CSA shares and many farm workshops and other activities for both children and grown-ups.

The centerpiece of a CSA membership in Foxtail Farm is a weekly share of fresh farm-raised produce or other share options. CSA members receive approximately 22 weeks of deliveries from June through October, with convenient delivery sites in the Capital District and on the farm in Greenville. Members can choose season-long vegetable, fruit, egg and chicken shares, and purchase extra items such as flowers, honey, preserves and holiday turkeys. Members also receive invitations and discounts for seasonal festivals, work shops and other farm activities and have access to the farm for hiking, picnicking and other recreation. Membership includes a modest work commitment (one working visit during the season).

We will have about 60 shares in 2014, with priority for new members choosing to pick-up on the farm in Greenville. We have a very engaged and committed membership and consistently have a high renewal rate for shares each year. Please contact us if you are interested in a share.

We also host a variety of on-farm workshops and activities for both CSA members and others. See our farm website for more information about these. Please join us!

Eric and Rachel encourage members to come out to the farm numerous times during the growing season -- to help plant and weed and harvest; to enjoy seasonal celebrations, like a summer solstice camp-out; or just to enjoy the beauty of nature.... This will be our third season enjoying the benefits of foxtail's harvest. We get an abundance of fresh vegetables each week and lots of ideas from the extremely helpful news letter as to how to store and use our produce.... [more]
