French tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus var. sativa) has a sweet anise flavor. It is particularly good with shellfish, fish, chicken, and turkey.
Russian tarragon (Artemisia dracunculoides) is very closely related to French tarragon but has no flavor. The Russian species is larger, coarser, and has no culinary merit. It may simply be a genetic mutation of French tarragon.
There is also a Mexican tarragon, which is not in the same family as the French or Russian.
I have grown and dried French Tarragon for many years and it is indeed one of the best herbs for fish and fowl.

For the most part unless mentioned otherwise, each tea bag will make 3 to 4 cups of tea; If loose herb tea,two ounces will make about 23 cups of tea . One ounce of just an herb is about a sandwich bag, and sometimes a little more. If it is a root herb such as burdock root it is heavier, thus an ounce would be about a quarter of a sandwich bag. Comfrey, plantain and nettle leaves would be in a quart size bag.
