Full Belly farm is a diverse fruit, vegetable, flower, nut and livestock farm situated on Cache Creek in northern California. Established in 1985, the farm has been operated organically since its inception and has sought to incorporate sustainable agricultural practices into its design. Our system includes growing and marketing over 80 different crops; providing year round employment for farm labor; using cover crops that fix nitrogen and provide organic matter for the soil; developing innovative marketing strategies; and planting habitat areas for beneficial insects and wildlife. This strategy allows the farm to integrate farm production with longer-term environmental goals. Full Belly is operated as a partnership between four individuals, with about 50 employees year round.
