Full Circle Farm & Forestry

At Full Circle Farm & Forestry, our primary goal is to build community through food. With a simple set of principles, we seek to share both our experiences and produce with a local customer base. We take land stewardship very seriously and make soil conservation and improvement a priority. We seek to increase the fertility of the soil with managed rotations of crops and livestock. By raising a wide variety of organically grown foods, we are able to mitigate some of the more serious pest and disease cycles. Diversity also provides a certain amount of economic stability. Despite the devastation associated with Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee in our first year, FCFF continues to grow and adhere to our commitment to producing fresh, locally grown food for people of New York's Capital Region. From 192 acres of land just south of Middleburgh in Schoharie County, we have pushed back the encroaching forest around the fields and reintroduced animals to help build organic matter in the soil amongst the evidence of over 200 years as a former community farm.

We use no synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. Many of our seeds are organically certified. Most are heirloom or open-pollinated varieties. We are committed to maintaining a strict policy of no genetically modified organisms (GMO) in our seed or in the feed for the animals.

In 2014 Full Circle Farm & Forestry enters our fourth year as a community supported agriculture (csa) farm. With weekly deliveries through Albany and Schoharie counties from early-June through October, we offer an assortment of seasonal vegetables, eggs and meat in a convenient size for families who want to supplement a garden, single people or couples who don't cook every meal at home.

I purchased 4 chickens from Alex over the past 6 months. They were all nicely cleaned and very meaty. They cooked up juicy and tender. Can't imagine ever going back to store bought, industrial grade chicken.... [more]
