Informal CSA (via e-mail notice) for naturally grown specialty vegetables. No upfront fee is required. For starters in 2012, these are some of the varieties being offered:
Turnip -- Gilfeather, Green Norfolk, purple top, Japanese
Kale -- Red Russian, Lacinato, Dwarf Blue Scotch
Arugula -- Rocket, Sylvetta (wild)
Lettuce -- Forellenschluss, Cracoviensis (aka asparagus lettuce or Celtuce) Dark Lollo Rossa, Sunset, Nevada and others
Radish -- watermelon, black Spanish, others
Beets -- Golden, Red Blood Turnip
Preparations are underway for the following warm/hot season varieties:
Eggplant -- Listada de Gandia, Rosa Bianca
Sweet Pepper -- Jimmy Nardello's, Chervena Chusjka, Lipstick
Hot Pepper -- Hot Portugal, Ancho Gigantea
Watermelon -- Sorbet Swirl
Other melons -- Tasty Bites, Minnesota Midget, others
Cherry tomatoes -- Black Cherry, Sungold, others
Okra -- Red Burgundy, Beck's Big Buck
Farm visits are by appointment only.
