Welcome to Garman Farm! Family-owned and operated, we specialize in growing heirloom vegetables and small fruits on four acres in Middletown, Rhode Island.
We became farmers for two reasons: first, food is our passion. Our principal criterion for selecting cultivars is taste. You'll find that a number of our cultivars are listed on Slow Food, USA's Ark of Taste. Second, we've become increasingly frustrated at a deceptive food system that refuses to require labeling of genetically-modified organisms.
You won't find any GMOs on our farm. Our fields, leased from Sustainable Aquidneck and the Aquidneck Island Land Trust, are classified as Transitional Organic We are returning the land to organic production by planting a diversity of crops, working in soil amendments like manure and seaweed, and employing best practices like crop rotation and winter cover crops.
We would like to be your source for the best-tasting, locally-grown and above all, responsibly-grown vegetables and small fruit. What can we bring you today?
