(Liatris spicata)
Beautiful native North American wildflower sends up tall purple bloom spikes in late spring and fall. Excellent bee and butterfly plant. Deer resistant. Hardy and fast growing, performs best when divided every third season. Deadhead if desired to keep from self-sowing. Seeds left on plant provide great forage for small birds- the neighborhood goldfinches love mine!
