Geauga Family Farms CSA is a cooperative of 10 certified-organic family farms located primarily in Geauga County. The majority of these farms are owned and operated by Amish families. The inclusion of multiple farms means that a wider variety of produce is available for our customers.
SUMMER CSA Our 20-week summer program begins in June and runs through October. Shares are delivered to your pickup site of choice on a weekly basis. Many items in the shares will vary as the season progresses.
There are three sizes of shares available: - A half share will provide enough produce for one person throughout the week, - A single share will provide enough produce for two to three people to have several servings throughout the week. - A family share will provide enough produce for four people to have several servings throughout the week with greater variety and a little more volume.
Typical shares might include: Early season - lettuce, kale, collard greens, cruciferous vegetables (i.e. broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, also known as super vegetables for their particular health benefits), radishes, green onions, strawberries, raspberries
Mid-season - tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, sweet corn, Swiss chard, broccoli, beans, basil, peaches, blueberries
Late season - sweet corn, tomatoes, squash, potatoes, beets, carrots, onions, peppers, kale, pumpkins, apples, pears, watermelon
Please note: We try to include at least one fruit each week, but due to harvest conditions this may not always be the case. Please recognize that these shares are primarily vegetables.
The vegetables in the shares are certified-organic. Not all of the fruit is organic; strawberries, blueberries, apples, peaches, etc. are grown conventionally on other farms.
At the beginning of the season, we may supplement the shares with nonproduce items such as eggs, bread or jam.
Applications are now available for the summer program. Spaces are filled on a first-come, first served basis.
WINTER CSA Our winter program runs in six-week blocks beginning in late October. Blocks are continued into the winter as long as produce is available. Shares are delivered to your pickup site of choice on a weekly basis. Many items in the shares will vary as the season progresses.
There is one size share available: - The winter share box provides enough produce for three to four people to have several servings throughout the week.
Typical shares might include: Sweet potatoes, onions, carrots, parsnips, broccoli, radishes, lettuce, Swiss chard, eggs and whole-wheat bread
Applications for winter shares go out in September. Spaces are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

This was our first season doing a CSA and we could not be happier! Lots of pick up locations, wonderful variety, and very reasonable price. I have been (happily) forced to increase my creativity when cooking in order to incorporate the weekly picks.... [more]
