(Allium Sativum Ophioscorodon)

HIghly valued for its culinary qualities, this garlic has a complex flavor, pungent, strong, sweet, and even a little lemony.

Each bulb has about 8-10 cloves arranged around a single stalk that will send up a topsetting bulb, or "scape," a few weeks before maturity. The scape should be removed for optimum development of the main bulb!

The outer wrapper ranges from white with pink streaks to a deep streaky purple. The cloves are wrapped in distinctive purple or reddish-brown wrappers that are very easy to peel.
