We are a small farm located at 2351 Glade Road, across from the Heritage Park in Blacksburg, Virginia. Established in 2010, we specialize in annual vegetables, pastured Freedom Ranger meat chickens and now have a flock of laying ducks. We also have a young apple orchard with 15 varieties. We sell at the Blacksburg Farmers Market downtown, run our own small CSA, and run our kickass farm stand Tuesday and Friday afternoons in season.
Our farming methods are based on building and maintaining the soil health, biodiversity, and community involvement. We do our best to serve as caretakers of the land by using organic matter-based mulches and cover crops. Although our intensive cultivation area only occupies about four acres, we also manage the remaining 44 acres of the property, part in rotational pasture for a local beef cattle farmer and part in a native-species forest and riparian area for a tributary of Tom's Creek.
Farm stand open in season Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 3 to 7 pm. Now taking sign-ups for our 2015 Farm Share and reservations for pastured Freedom Ranger broilers fed non-GMO feed. Visit our website for more details.
