Goldfinch Farm operates a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program serving YORK and LANCASTER counties. Since 2000, the CSA has been providing a variety of fresh, delicious, chemical-free vegetables to its members. Members become, in a way, "shareholders": sharing some of the risks, costs, and even labor involved in small-scale farming.
Members purchase a "share" at the beginning of the season. Then, once a week from mid-June through early November, members come to one of the following pick-up sites to receive the veggies that are in season that week: 1) Goldfinch Farm near Wrightsville in York Co., 2) Lancaster Friends Meetinghouse off of Columbia Avenue. The vegetables are freshly-picked and members tell us that the veggies last much longer than store-bought produce.
The type of vegetables available will vary depending on the time of year and on Mother Nature's plans. We strive to have plenty of familiar favorites like tomatoes and salad mix, as well as a few tasty items that may be hard to find elsewhere. In addition to the produce, we also offer for sale other organic and/or grass-fed meats, eggs, cheese, etc. from other local farms. The overall goal of Goldfinch Farm CSA is to grow the best produce possible in an ecologically-sound manner while helping shareholders gain a sense of connection to the land and to their food supply.
Pick your own flower bouquet! In addition to all the delicious vegetables, our CSA members can pick their own flowers and herbs from mid-summer through late fall.
