Used in Peru for carving decorative bowls. 'Corsica Flat' produces attractive, round-flattened gourds 3-1/2 to 5" deep and 6 to 12" in diameter. The gourds are pleasingly proportioned and decorative in themselves, especially when dried with the attached curvilinear stem. If desired, cut of the tops to make gourd "pots" and "lids" and decorate with a wood-burning tool. Makes a nice gift item.
