At Green Mountain Grown, our veal calves are pasture raised right alongside of their mothers in the pristine hills of central Vermont. They are free to roam several acres of lush green pastures and nurse at will. You won't find calves hitched to tiny crates with short leads. You won't find them being fed milk replacer laced with antibiotics and other medications. Our veal is rosy pink in color, not pale bland like supermarket veal. The rosy color comes from a proper diet of mother's milk and grass, fresh air, clean water and plenty of sunshine. A proper diet also gives our veal a very delicate and subtle flavor of beef. We raise black angus cattle and all our veal are black angus calves....not dairy calves. Black angus have long enjoyed a reputation as the finest tasting and most tender beef available, so you can imagine just how delicious black angus veal is!
