At Gramp's Garden we grow our produce naturally using no chemicals that aren't approved for this practice. What this means is that all weed and pest control is done without the use of sprays or dusts, giving us vegetables with no chemical residue. Another difference you will find with farm fresh vegetables is that they don't all grow perfect or identical and they will have dirt on them. The reason for not washing the vegetables before you get them is simple. Scrubbing a vegetable injures the skin shortening its storage time. Gently rubbing off the dirt will protect the skin allowing your vegetables to keep a longer period of time. Wash your vegetables only just prior to cooking or eating to help preserve their freshness. In 2014 we will once again plant many different types of vegetables. Some varieties will be available almost every week all season, while other types will come and go. A different selection of vegetables should be available each week. You will begin receiving fresh vegetables in May and continue through September. The early crops in May will continue to produce all season long as will some crops that ripen later. By planting multiple plantings, we can continue to have a variety each week. In May you will receive an assortment of vegetables such as lettuce, spinach, swiss chard, arugula, baby beets, kale, and pak choi. In June the selection broadens with peas, beans, kohlrabi, squash, and broccoli. July and August will be adding tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, peppers, and cauliflower to your weekly assortment. By the end of August and on into September you will be getting potatoes, onions, winter squash, carrots, and cabbage. The rate of ripening and the quantity of the harvest are controlled primarily by our partner, Mother Nature. Some weeks the assortment will be better than others but each week will provide you with fresh, healthy vegetables for you to enjoy.

Full Share:  $500 for 10-12 pounds of fresh vegetables every week for a minimum of 20 weeks. Pay 1/2 before May 1, 2014. Balance due June 1, 2014

1/2 Share:  $30/weekly share $300 for 5-6 pounds of fresh vegetables every week for a minimum of 20 weeks.
