We are a small farm, located in Kalkaska,Michigan.Every year we seem to be adding more.I started by raising Suffolk Sheep, Rabbits-Holland Lops, & Mini-Rexes.Then I raised baby chicks,by an incubator.Plus what started as a small garden, now has become about a 30x80 garden. I have red onions, garlic, tomato's,Red & Green Peppers, Cucumbers, Corn, Chives, Dill, Basil, Spearmint, Verbena, Zucchini, Watermelon & Squash. We just finished building my barn in 2010. So this year we'll be planting the grazing area for my lambs. I purchased a Ram-from MSU.So it should be exciting to see how many baby's are born in the spring of 2010. Lamb has such a great taste. I have sold packaged lamb to friends,& family, plus I also sell lambs to Children in 4-H. I get my lamb processed at Ebels, also all my grain is purchased at Ellsworth's Farm Exchange, in Mancelona,Mi, for the lambs, rabbits,& Chickens. I buy my hay, from a farmer in East Jordan. So as you can see, they are fed nothing but the best, plus I support our Michigan Farmers! Our chickens are mostly free range, which we get beautiful brown eggs.Everything is put back into the soil,we have 2 compost piles, which are turned every 2 months. I have just started raising red worms,in March of 2009.So this is all for the love I have for gardening,& raising my own foods. In the future I plan on purchasing a greenhouse,to start my own plants. Plus, I bred my Maltese, Fluffy & we had 5 darling little pups (3 ounces) on March 9th, 2010. This year is going to be another great year at Grandview Farms Up North.2012, I no longer have my sheep,my husband worked to many hours & couldn't help lifting the hay,so I had to sell the whole flock.I only have Holland Lop rabbits,& a few chickens now.
