Our organic farm is the central focus of the Green Earth Institute, a not-for-profit community organization dedicated to nutritional health and environmental sustainability. We farm on protected land in the middle of suburbia at the 60-acre McDonald Farm in Naperville owned by The Conservation Foundation.

In 2011, our CSA's ninth year, we are growing over 40 vegetables and herbs for subscribers in the western and southwestern suburbs. The Main Season CSA runs from mid-June until the end of October. Spring shares are sold out, but a limited number of Late Fall shares are still available for November.

At our website you may see the details and sign up for 2011 CSA shares.

Farming Practices: [?]

Certified Organic

Planting starts soon! The 2011 planting begins in mid-February when we seed the onions, scallions, and leeks indoors in germination trays; we will move these seedlings to the greenhouse in early April and transplant them into the field in mid-April. In mid-March we will be seeding tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers in germination trays indoors; in early April these move outside to the greenhouse, and in mid-May these seedlings will go into the field.
