This variety of basil tastes and smells like green peppers. Leaves are a bit coarser than other basils, being similar in texture to bay leaves while on the plant.
This is a rare variant of basil. I use it when wanting to add the flavor of green peppers to dishes as well as in more traditional dishes using basil.
