Greenjeans Farm

Vegetables, Fruits, Herbs, Free Range Chicken and Duck Eggs and Flowers.

It's 100 degrees and the squash is exploding the beans are almost ready and the cucs are coming on hard. Tomatoes are blooming and the corn is actually knee high, (but spotty) by the fourth of July. Freshly harvested garlic. Basil and green onions! Edamamme growing under the sun flowers. Kale! The prettiest Kale you have ever seen. Jeff actually made a Kale and pesto and Zuchinni pizza on the grill last night! Still want to make the Kale chips! That is for a day when it is not 100 degrees!

We want to take the season into November this year so your thoughts and suggestions are always welcome. I want to try planting more potatoes for a fall harvest, never done that before. And peas a little later on. Ummmmm. PotatoLeek Fresh Pea Soup, and Pumpkin with everything good in October sounds great to me! The Mariposa and wild plums are almost ready a couple of more days of this hot weather and PLEASE come and pick your own! I have loads pf recipe's I'm tired of having them landing on my car..... This CSA starts a little early, so I wasn't surprised at the lack of produce in the beginning, which was made up for with lots of things like pickles, jam, and bread.... [more]

Without this farm I would have starved more than once. It inspires me to grow my own vegetables in my rented house and teeny front yard.

NO MO Football!

Best summer ever.  NO MO Football!  I have a man home for a couple of months  ( Schools OUT!) with lot?s of energy and our garden has never looked or produced better!   Best of all when I get home from grocery shopping on Thursday, there is someone here to bring the bags in and put it all away!

I always moan and groan in the fall because of the football energy in our house  Practice every night  August till November almost and Saturdays and Sundays on the road!  And yes I will miss it, but I like the new stuff already!  10 years is enough.... [more]
