Growing Washington at Alm Hill Gardens

Now entering its fifth decade of operations, Alm Hill Gardens is a year-round production farm growing over 200 varieties of fruits, vegetables, salad greens, flowers, grains, nuts, herbs, livestock, (chickens, pigs and turkeys) for wholesale & retail markets. The farm attends 15-20 farmers markets a week in the Seattle area, powers a growing regional CSA program, can be found in dozens of top restaurants and grocery stores in Puget Sound, sells to dozens of schools and universities, offers U-Pick, and serves as the northern hub for Growing Washington, a collection of new generation and immigrant farmers organized together as a 501(c)(3) non-profit.

Growing Washington's mission is "To move, grow, raise and represent food and Farmers in Washington State". We operate multiple farms in Whatcom County: Alm Hill Gardens--our hub, and The Food Bank Farm--in which all food produced is directly donated to Whatcom area food banks. We also operate the largest locally sourced CSA program in the state, the Local Choice Food Box. In addition, we work closely with Viva Farms, a joint venture of WSU Extension & GrowFood.org, an international non-profit dedicated to recruiting, training and capitalizing the next generation of sustainable farmers.
