Gwinn will soon have its very own farmers market. Starting in July, Gwinn residents will have the opportunity to buy local food and products straight from the farmers and artisans that produced them. The newly formed Gwinn Farmers Market, sponsored by Forsyth Township, will open on July 2nd and run through the end of September. The market will take place in Peter Nordeen Park on Thursday evenings 5-7 pm.

Peter Nordeen Park offers a perfect setting for a weekly market: lots of green space, beautiful river, covered pavilions, and a central location. Live music will round out the experience. Market shoppers can expect to find local produce and eggs as well handcrafted soaps, fresh cut flowers, artwork, and more. Farm vendors will be registered to accept Project Fresh coupons. All products will be grown or made by local UP residents. The market already has several committed vendors but is still accepting vendor applications. Musicians are also needed. A concert series and educational workshops are still in the planning phase.
