Imagine a warm, breezy Sunday morning in Hale’iwa, on nearly 4 acres of Kamehameha Schools’ property in the heart of the beautiful North Shore. Forty colorful tents line the promenade. Droves of North Shore residents of all ages and backgrounds meander from vendor to vendor, choosing the freshest produce and tastiest food products that Hawai’i has to offer. Local music serenades families as they brunch in the shade of the open café. Kids savor natural shave ice and race from vendor to vendor trying to complete the tropical fruit and vegetable scavenger hunt. Elderly local residents visit with vendors whom they have come to warmly know by name. Every item for sale at the market has been Hawaii-grown or made by the vendors themselves.
