This beautiful snowflake hat was hand knitted using an alpaca/wool blend yarn from NAAFP (North American Alpaca Fiber Producers) which was hand dyed a striking blue. NAAFP sorts the alpaca fiber prior to putting it into product to produce a superior handling yarn that knits up like a dream. We send many of our fleeces to NAAFP each year. The white contrast yarn is 100% wool.
As the hat was knitted the yarn strands were woven in the back rather than stranded. By weaving the yarn strands together the hat has more substance and there is less chance of snagging the yarn strands as you handle the hat.
A deep cuff provides extra warmth at the brim, behind the cuff lies a pretty design.
