Karakul Sheep are among the first breeds of sheep domesticated by man. These sheep are still tradionally used for meat, milk and their wool in their native countries of Turkey and Afghanistan.

Karakul wool is the strongest of the "carpet-wools." Tradional Turkish hand woven and dyed carpets last for generations and still fetch top-of-the-line prices.

We wash, dry, dye, then wash and dry again to produce glorious colors you can use in your own felting or crafting projects. Some colors have been dyed over grey/black/red wools, while others are dyed onto white wool.

Color is subject to availability and will vary from dyelots – custom dyeing is available on orders 5 lbs. or more.
