Mohair from Phoenix Farm is hand sheared twice per year from holistic pasture-raised animals -- it is 100% natural! Our herd of colored angora goats range in color from cream to taupe to silver, with some black and red animals as well. Phoenix Farm also supports small, local farms by purchasing their fiber for our store's stock, as well.
This listing is for a 5.5-ounce braid of a beautiful pencil / pin-drafted roving kettle-dyed in a gorgeous fuchsia with bits of purple. This beautiful, lustrous, soft roving is pencil roving and requires no pre-drafting prior to spinning. Braids are made with multiple strands of the pencil roving, so when it is unbraided, it is not all one piece, but several easy to handle pieces. Easy to spin or use the braid as a photo prop or basket filler for your newborn!
Prior to processing, this fleece had been picked through by hand to try to remove all foreign matter and debris picked up in the field. It is very clean, but may contain some small bits of vegetative matter, which are easily removed while spinning. It is stored in a smoke- and pet-free environment. It is ready for you to spin, photograph, dye, or do whatever your imagination inspires!
Stored in a smoke- and pet-free environment!
