A beautiful handwoven scarf to keep the chills away. Silky soft against your skin. Long enough to be tied in any style you wish, lightweight and yet super warm. You will enjoy this scarf for may years to come. Woven using yarns spun using fleece from our alpacas plus some added bamboo and soy silk to add color, durability and sheen. Scarf length is 76" long by 8" wide.
Weaving is my latest fiber arts passion and I am enjoying weaving on my Kromski Rigid Heddle loom. It is a delight to see what new products can be produced from the beautiful fleeces of our alpacas. This scarf is the culmination of a year of feeding and caring for our alpacas, harvesting their fleeces, preparing the fleeces for shipment to the mill, receiving yarn back from the mill (always an exciting day at the farm!) and then time spent warping the loom and then weaving. This is not your department store mass produced scarf, but rather a creation that contains a lot of care, passion and energy resulting in the final product. When you touch this scarf you are touching part of our farm, part of our lives.
Your purchase from Windrush Alpacas helps us to feed and care for our herd of over 70 friendly alpacas at our family farm. We thank you for supporting our farm!
Windrush Alpaca Products: Luxury never felt so good or cost so little (TM)
Alpaca fleece is as soft as cashmere and stronger than wool. Naturally stain resistant and odor resistant it is a durable yet luxurious fiber.
Correctly processed alpaca does not have the prickle effect of wool and can usually be worn by those who are allergic to wool.
Our alpacas are raised in a gentle, caring manner. Each one is treasured for its special characteristics in both fleece and reproductive ability.
