Happy Hills Alpaca Farm

Happy hills alpaca farm is a small farm just south of Charlotte, NC. We have 8 alpacas of all ages and sizes and two pet sheep. We specialize in fine fleeced alpacas and use their fleece to handspin yarn and make beautiful soft, luxurious products. Alpacas are beautiful and sweet animals and can be very tame. Some of ours come up for kisses and all are used to people visiting them on our tours. Alpacas are raised for their fleece or fiber and provide us with the finest fiber that is on the planet. That's our opinion. In ancient Peru, only the Incan royalty could wear alpaca fiber. It is very, very soft (as cashmere) and hypoallergenic (unlike all other fibers) and also a natural flame retardant. It is therefore a perfect choice for baby garments and clothing. We sell alpaca hand made baby clothing and processed yarn and roving (for spinners) as well as beautiful hand spun yarn. We also sell our alpacas to qualified buyers. Alpacas are very easy care but do require protection from the sun and heat (as they can die of heat stress). Come by for a visit to learn more. Felting, spinning and knitting/weaving classes are also taught on the farm. Our farm store is open most days but please call ahead.
