Shortbread cookies made with "Taro"! This is very delicious with 100% Kona Coffee.
Taro or "Kalo" (Hawaiian term), is a tropical plant grown primarily as a vegetable food for its edible corm, and secondarily as a leaf vegetable.
Taro can be prepared or used in many different ways. For instance, "Poi" is made from the taro root and a staple to the Hawaiian people. Also, some would use taro to make a chip, use it within breads, pancake mixes, or used as a substitute for potatoes when making a salad.
