Haynes Homestead

The Haynes Homestead is a local family-run farm that provides fresh, natural and thoughtfully grown food. We are located in Northern New Hampshire on a 430-acre farm that has been in our family for four generations. It is important to us to keep it in the family. We raised six sons here; they and their spouses, and our grandchildren, are continuing to help us keep the farm active. Like many in Northern New Hampshire, to survive the harsh financial climate we try to be self-sufficient by raising our own pigs and chickens. We freeze, dry, and can our garden produce to sustain us through the long New England winters. Our fresh fruits, vegetables, and baked goods are offered through local CSA, Farm Stand, Farmers' Market, North Country Marketplace (on Colby Street in Colebrook), and the North Country Co-op. We provide a large variety of vegetables, along with fruits and herbs. Our animals are raised happily foraging on pastures. While we no longer have dairy cows, we still do a limited haying, and are currently working on greenhouse and high-tunnel growing to extend our limited growing season. We have PYO strawberries and PYO raspberries, in season. Our Farm Stand is open Spring through Fall. Our delicious homemade fudge is available year-round, and can be shipped. Winter is a busy time for us as we handcraft fragrant Balsam Fir Wreaths and Kissing Balls that we ship across the country. Although we are not a certified organic farm, we do follow the principles behind certification. The Haynes Homestead is committed to Holistic Management by respecting the environment, one's nutrition and supporting the local economy.
