We had a dream of leaving the city and growing a huge garden in the country. We realized that dream in 2003, we started off growing at some rented land 15 miles away from our house. Now we have land just 7 miles from our house and everything is growing like we wanted.
Our vegetables are grown with the environment in mind. We are not completely organic, but do just about everything we can with organic in mind, which means a whole lot of weeding by hand and using mulches to keep the weeds away. We do not use pesticides.
There is a small vineyard on site which belongs to my parents, and we are starting a small orchard, which we will be adding to every year until we reach our 1500 tree limit. Currently, we have 250 trees that were planted spring 2008.
