We are a small family farm located just north of Independence, VA. We raise both heritage and barnyard mix chickens on local feed without the use of antibiotics (or added hormones). The chickens on the farm alternately range, forage in pasture pens, turn compost, and help out in the garden. We sell meat, eggs, and live birds at the local farmers market and on the farm.
We also make bread (white, wheat, sourdough, french), cookies, scones, pizza crust, pasta, you name it! Some of this is for sale at the market, and all of this is available for pre-order. Various crafts, including the "tiny chickens", jewelry, artistic pieces, and ceramic dishware are also available.
We offer internships, artist retreat space, and day-long courses in various homesteading projects, including chicken processing and cheesemaking.
Farming chickens and crafting in the Appalachian Mountains.
At the Independence Farmer's Market Fridays 9am-1pm and Wednesdays 4-6pm during the market season.
Available for sales on the farm at nearly any time with an appointment.
