Heikes Farm has been in the family for 3 generations. We are attempting to keep the tradition of the diversified, sustainable family farm alive for our children, and theirs.
We currently run 15 Finn-cross ewes, 20 beefaloe (all grassfed), a few pigs (roasters and freezer), horses for recreation (and we hope for light hay and cultivation work soon), as well as an acre of pesticide-free blueberries. Our free-range hens produce gorgeous (and tasty, highly nutritious) brown and blue-green eggs. We grow a diverse garden that meets most of our food needs throughout the year, and surplus is sold as available. Of course, we utilize natural livestock by-product fertilizer (manure) and organic pest control. T
