We are in the process of restoring our familys farm by changing its present emphasis on conventional, dairy feed farmers to a sustainable agricultural business model based on producing high-value farm products for local markets.
We are particularly interested in promoting the local, agriculturally based, Amish culture through a cooperative and fair labor-management business relationship. Interested local Amish farmers are encouraged to inquire within.
We have 36 acres of tillable fields, 6 acres of which (3, 2-acre fields) have been fallow for a considerable period of time (7+ years). The farm includes a 50-acre sugarbush and historic sugarhouse with capacity for 300- 400 taps. There is a 2+-acre recreational lake available for use as a water supply for irrigation.
There is also natural gas, electric and potable water service available on-site as well as two, secured seasonal cabins.
We will consider and are considering Certified Organic, organic (exempt), Certified Naturally Grown, naturally grown, kosher, transitional and conventional farming practices and production methods. We are also considering High Tunnel(s) and heated greenhouse(s) for extended season and year-round operations.
