Hermit Thrush Homestead

Hermit Thrush Homestead is a small organic farm in Halifax and Guilford, VT. We grow a wide variety of perennial fruits and berries, annual vegetables, herbs, and flowers, and specialize in growing food directly for our community through our summer and winter CSA. In addition to vegetables, we also raise laying hens, honey bees, and dairy goats.

Meggie and Patrick live and work at the homestead full-time. Together, they have worked on over a dozen different farms around the country and they are now thrilled to be running their own small farm. They are dedicated to living sustainably on the planet, and working to produce top quality, local food year-round in New England is an integral part of the vibrant future they envision. In addition to agricultural production, they also practice natural building techniques, sustainable forestry, and non-violent communication-- a method of communication that involves non-judgement and empathic listening and reflection.

Hermit Thrush Homestead is nestled in the foothills of the Green Mountains, along the Green River in southeast Vermont. We grow perennial fruits and berries, annual vegetables, laying hens, and dairy goats using only organic practices. Our CSA members are the heart of our farm operation, which is why this year we are focusing exclusively on growing for our members.
