Hickory Ridge Farm

Hickory Ridge Farm, near Waupun, Wisconsin, has been the Goodlaxson family farm since 1846. The farm is located at the north end of the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge home to hundreds of species of water birds, beavers, muskrat, otters, deer and other animals. Fall is especially exciting as thousands of migratory geese make their way south, stopping over at Horicon.

Tastes Great Our Holstein steers are fed organically raised hay, and have seasonal access to pasture. The excellent quality feeds make a big difference in terms of flavor. Our beef has a rich, hearty taste that we know you?¢ï¿½?�?ll appreciate.

Healthier, Too Well-fed, healthy cattle have better protein quality and fat composition with more minerals and vitamins. Organic beef is higher in Conjugated Linoleic Acids, which fight cancer. With no synthetic hormones, you?¢ï¿½?�?ll feel comfortable including beef as part of your diet.

How We Raise the Animals

Steers are fed a mixture of healthy foods such as grains, hay, and pasture grasses. Most feed is organically grown. Crops are certified organic through MOSA.

Animals are not given synthetic hormones. Antibiotics are administered to animals only to save their lives. Herbal preparations such as garlic tincture are used whenever possible.

Animals are treated humanely throughout their lives.
