Hickory Wind Farm is set on a breezy scenic high ridge top in the Coulee region of southwest Wisconsin. Our first huacaya alpacas arrived in October 2004 and we purposefully maintain a smaller herd to insure that all of our animals receive quality daily attention. Customers know that both our breeding stock and fiber/pet alpacas are healthy, in good condition, and well-mannered. In continually seeking to improve fiber quality while maintaining correct confirmation, we carefully select award-winning herdsires to use.
Bringing 'the wonderfulness' of alpaca fiber products to the general public is a key element of our farm. High quality skirted raw fiber, roving and yarn are sold via our on-the-farm retail store (The HW Farm Shoppe), our Alpaca Fiber CSA, and at various local events.

As a crocheter, sometimes knitter, and beginning weaver, I place great importance on the quality of the alpaca fiber, roving, and yarn that I use and sell. Fleeces are carefully chosen for processing at mini-mills selected for their consistent high quality. Natural colors and blends are our specialty - no dyes are needed!
Most of our alpaca products are sold to hands-on customers - needle crafters, spinners, weavers, felters. Our Alpaca Fiber CSA is ideal for folks from away and as gifts.
