We are a backyard farm with a great big mission located outside of Smithville, MO. We are committed to being a year-round source of safe, nutritiously dense foods raised in a sustainable manner that goes beyond organic. We strive to work with Mother Nature and study her methods of balancing and preventing disease and illness through nutrition and soil health. We feel the foods you eat can only be as healthy as the soils they are grown in. All of our animals are truly free ranged in a rotational grazing system.
Our herd of 100% grass and hay fed Jersey girls provides us with delicious, sweet milk and dairy products year round. This year our herd is starting annual testing for TB, Brucellosis and Johnes and we also will be testing our milk. We raise heritage breeds of chickens for meat and eggs and will have Berkshire pigs and heritage turkeys for meat in fall 2007. We raise all of our produce and herbs from heirloom seed and extend our growing season into winter with our unheated greenhouse. We are starting a berry patch in spring of 2007 and in the future will be offering grass fed beef and lamb. All of our products are free from corn or soy in any form.
Please call to check availability of items as we sell certain items on a schedule but we are available 7 days a week just let us know you are coming in case we are out back doing chores!
We are selling limited number of exclusive farm memberships for our new larger farm coming in 2007. This is not a CSA but a membership that gives you private access to our farm including the land, animals, gardens, trails, clubhouse, retreats and more. Call for more information 816 365 3305.
