We are Wake County's first and only Certified Organic Produce Farm, located in Willow Spring, NC, 15 miles south of Raleigh. We grow 40 varieties of fruits, vegetables and small grains. We sell to restaurants and stores either direct or through Eastern Carolina Organics (ECO) and provide for over 150 families through our CSA program. Members support the farm by paying in advance to receive a weekly share of vegetables throughout the growing season. We deliver to 8 drop site locations: 4 in Raleigh, 2 in Cary and 2 at the farm. During the season we also sell at the Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market on Wednesdays, as well as our farmstand here on Tuesdays and Saturday afternoons. We host farm tours to groups of 10 or more, which consists of touring the organic fields, beehives, greenhouses and horse barn. Participants learn where food comes from and get a hands-on lesson about equine care. Tour groups are welcomed to picnic under the shade of 120 yr old pecan trees. We also offer Pic-Yer-Own organic strawberries in the spring and grow and sell malted barley to local breweries and to individuals for home brewing!

This season will be my 9th year at Hilltop Farms. I've done Summer, Fall, and Winter CSAs there; I believe my husband and I are the oldest members! When the CSA is not in season I forget to buy food, I've gotten so used to Fred providing me all I need most of the year! It's amazing to know that every week I'll have local, fresh (often still covered in dirt, right out of the ground), organic, in season produce without having to hunt it down - Fred picks what's ready and I just go pick it up! There's some flexibility in what you get -you pick your own within the limits on the board each week (1 lb.... [more]
