We began our company, Hunter & Hilsberg, in 1995 as a purveyor of gourmet foods through mail-order, retail and farm stores. As the demand for our products grew, we were in dire need of specialty fruits to supply our company with a consistent supply of unique, organic, fresh fruits of all kinds. In 2005, as a separate endeavor, we began a 30 acre farm in Scott, New York, near Skaneateles Lake in the Finger Lakes, on the Cortland and Onondaga County boarders (20 minutes south of Syracuse, 15 minutes north of Cortland, 20 minutes from Ithaca and Cazenovia). We are growing a large variety of fruits, including a huge variety of berries including: wild blackberry (thimbleberry, too), gooseberry, black currant, elderberry, cranberry, highbush and heritage blueberry, wild blueberry, wild apple, wild strawberry, wild grapes, just to name a few. We welcome visitors by appointment to pick-your-own, and we also welcome orders for fresh fruit to be shipped via mail-order. Our company, Hunter & Hilsberg, produces a variety of products, including preserves and jellies, as well as chutneys and whole berry sauces, from our fruits. These can be ordered through Hunter & Hilsberg's website, too.
