Illinois Independent Consumers and Farmers Association (IICFA)

The Illinois Independent Consumers and Farmers Association -

This group is dedicated to

- promoting and preserving unregulated, direct farmer-to-consumer trade that fosters the availability of locally grown and/or home produced food products in Illinois,

- oppose any government funded or managed NAIS (National Animal Identification System) program at the state as well as federal levels, and

- address the needs of both consumers and farmers in the state of Illinois in furthering this agenda.

We are not a legal organization, but an advocacy group based on member involvement in the political and economic process.

IICFA is currently a legal business entity within the State of Illinois. We are awaiting notification of our 501 status.

Many of you are already aware of the NAIS program, however, this issue addresses both that, and the USDA's decision to hold a planning session for emergency livestock disease control - without benefit of owner/producer involvement of any sort. This meeting will not only affect livestock owners, but all consumers as well - and will reach to all 50 states and globally. If anyone has questions about NAIS, please contact me...
